Introducing the Kleros Address Tag Query Registry

The Kleros Securities Registries (which are now part of Kleros Scout) has been a mainstay of Kleros’s products in the past years. Powered by the fully decentralized, permissionless and trustless technology of Kleros Curate, it is now a source of contract metadata to key industry infrastructure such as Etherscan, Ledger and Metamask (through the Snaps framework).

In an effort to scale the curation of this information, we are now officially launching a new initiative called the Address Tag Query (ATQ) Registry. This registry curates Javascript modules that can be used to query data from subgraphs on The Graph’s decentralized network, and parses the information into contract tags for large batches of contracts in one go. This allows for very similar contracts to be efficiently tagged in one single entry, complementing the existing address tag registry (which only takes in one tag at a time).

After some initial testing, we are now ready to source submissions from our wider community through a pilot incentive program!

Program details:

We are offering the following incentives as part of this 2-month program:

  • Rewards for Successful Entries: We are setting a reward of $200 worth of PNK for each of the first 10 successful entries from today till 31 October 2024.
  • Discretionary compensation for Challenged Entries: To encourage robust testing and participation, the Kleros Cooperative may cover deposits lost in this campaign period if the challenges were due to issues with or ambiguities in the policy of the registry*.

How can I take part?

There are three ways for you to be part of this program:

  1. As a Submitter of new modules: go to the registry on curate.kleros.io and check out the tools and examples cited in the policy.
    • Clone one the example repository there and update it to use the retrieval and parsing logic of a different subgraph and submit the repository to the registry with a refundable deposit of 290 xDai.
    • Check out the Custom GPT listed in the policy appendix to help you verify your entry before submission.
  2. As a Challenger of incorrect entries: Once new entries are submitted, we will be posting it in our Curate Telegram channel to encourage everyone to vet the entries for compliance with the policy. If you see an incorrect entry, you can challenge it by placing a deposit of 90 xDai and stand a chance of winning 200 xDai if the challenge is vindicated by Kleros Court.
  3. As a Juror in the Javascript Court: Lastly, this registry would not be possible without our jurors and we can always use more jurors in our Javascript Development Court on xDai. If you have some PNK and have some Javascript knowledge, go to court.kleros.io and stake in that court and stand a chance to win 30 xDai for each coherent vote for each case you are drawn into.

We understand that this is a novel and unprecedented way of curating information in a decentralized manner so please do not hesitate to reach out to me, the (@daisugist) or post your questions on Kleros Curate’s Telegram channel for questions or feedback.

Looking forward to seeing the first entries appearing on-chain!

💡Wondering how to get started with making a submission? Go check out https://thegraph.com/explorer and see if there are subgraphs there that are not yet represented in the ATQ registry. Try to look for subgraphs of projects where new contracts are continuously being spun up (e.g. through a factory contract). Good examples of this are DeFi projects (with individual pool contracts) and smart contract wallet projects (e.g. Safes).

*Disclaimer: To prevent abuse, the Kleros Cooperative reserves the right to decide which challenged entries qualify for reimbursement.
